About Kiyokawa Maru
Kiyokawa Maru was originally built as a merchant ship before being converted into a seaplane tender for the Imperial Japanese Navy in 1941. During World War II, she supported fleet reconnaissance operations, participated in the invasion of Rabaul, and later served as a Special Seaplane Tender in the South Pacific. After sustaining damage during attacks near Makassar, she remained in service until the end of the war.
