This 4-inch IC rated housing is suitable for new construction in residential and commercial applications and for direct contact with insulation. Integral thermal guards protect against improper lamping and misuse of insulation materials with lamp wattage ratings and apertures based off trim selection. The airtight housing limits the exchange of air between ceiling plenum and heated/cooled areas. The housing adjusts from 0.5 to 1.5-inches to accommodate ceiling thickness and its 6-inch height allows it to be used in 2 x 8-inch joist construction.
